THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY NON-TATTOOED DOUCHE BAGS WALKING THE EARTH IN THIS STUFF ALREADY. The one thing about most tattoo artists and enthusiasts is that they have a strong sense of individual self expression and aren't the type of person that will go gaga for the latest shirt and sweater ensemble from Old Navy. We are artistic, quirky, rebellious types that keep off the beaten path. That said, the internet abounds with original designers and craftsmen/women that are churning out some really cool one off tattoo related designs.
You can do the google search, but I went to Etsy.com and typed tattoo in the search window and got over 9000 results. Etsy is an online global community of individual designers making and selling there products worldwide. You are supporting hardworking artistic people not some global big box store. Some of the places we found like the Cradle will Rock store had really cool original designs for toddlers like the one at pictured at left, hand made and only 40.00! It is a typical Etsy story, an independent woman that started making original clothing when she couldn't find what she wanted for her son nine years ago that eventually bloomed into an independent business. So many other accessories are available to peruse through such as the cool hair clips from Litsy Leopards store and Etsy has a great feedback system so you can see how satisfied past clients are with the products they have purchased.
Give the gift of a good tattoo. If your man or woman, brother or sister, has been wanting to get tattoo, a gift certificate is a great gift. Quality tattoos are expensive, so even a gift certificate to cover a portion of the tattoo expense is a great gift, and probably just the push they need to get it. Do your research to find a reputable tattoo shop, look at their work, knowing that they are safe and hygienic is key to finding a good studio. If that someone has had tattoos before, and you know where they get them done, its a good idea to stick to the same place, they may be quite loyal to their artist, especially if they have been back for more than one tattoo.
Custom Artwork - Sure, it may be on the high end of pricey, but more and more artists are selling custom drawings and paintings either through other galleries, there own galleries or online. You can spend thousands of dollars on original artworks from the likes of Paul Booth, who runs and owns a gallery as well as a Tattoo studio in NYC, or Kurt Wiscombe and Alex Adams who own the "Skull and Bones" Gallery in Winnipeg. Or check out Hyperspace Studios and the art of Guy Aitchison and Michele Wortman. There are also lesser known artists like Glen Paradis, of Ottawa, Canada who has his latest works on his art site in the hundreds of dollars range or Nick Chaboya out of California who has some great pieces up for sale on his myspace page. Remember, the great thing about collecting artwork from lesser known artists is that it is cheaper now and as the artists become more and more well known the value of your gift will go up as a collectible. Even more reasonable is Art Prints or design sheets from artists like James Kern, of No Hope No Fear .

Toddlers love their parents ink and have become fascinated with it as the tattoo mainstream gets bigger and more popular. So give that child a tattoo coloring book or a children's book where it features parents with tattoos.

Many artists have their own clothing lines or studio t-shirts. You can surprise them with something with a little thought behind it and support a local studio without having to overpay for stupid tattoo designer labels such as Christian Aud- da - you know who.
